This TV series ‘Der Bergdoktor’ (the mountain doctor) is filmed in this village at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser. Nature has bestowed an imposing panoramic backdrop on Ellmau and therefore the huts and slopes between the northern Kitzbühel Alps and the Kaiser peaks have hosted numerous other film and music productions. Ellmau is always active and is one of the most attractive tourist resorts in Tyrol with its guided themed hikes, e-bikes, golf and swimming. The Ellmau Ski Night also features a winter party on the piste.
